Terlingua Ranch Lodge

It’s a lodge so don’t expect a lot. But the room we got was renovated and we liked it. It’s a drive to get here from the ghost town or the national park and the last 3 miles are not paved. If your car can handle it then you should be fine. Also there is no cell service and WiFi is spotty, so good place to be disconnected. The cafe here is good.

The little cabin was just perfect for what we needed while hiking in Big Bend. I accidentally dropped my wallet in the restaurant, and Tammi Allen went ABOVE AND BEYOND to get it back to me. She was very communicative and sent my wallet with everything in place via UPS immediately, even though it was Thanksgiving weekend. She was a real MVP!! I highly recommend. The food was delicious, the people kind and friendly, the room clean, and much more. It was a great experience! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Our experience at Terlingua Ranch Lodge was perfect excluding minor concerns. The world wide web mislead us as to the distance to the reputable Big Bend National Park. It was inferred a quick 15 minute buggy ride would land us inside the park. In reality, the journey was quite a bit longer. Nay, 45 minutes and some did it take us to traverse the barren desert. This did not put a damper on our situation, though. The victuals were scrumptious and economical. The faculty, namely the kind maiden Christina, as well as lady Tammy, were quite amicable. The vista from our domicile had an imposing presence that lent a true gravity to the desert's majesty. Would recommend.

During our visit to Big Bend National Park, Texas we chose Terlingua Ranch Lodge as our lodge for the duration, we booked before reading the reviews which was good, because people are complaining about the wrong things here. yes it is far from everything, there is nothing "nearby", you will need a vehicle for everything when you stay here, they have a laundry room, and a small kiosk, you can buy ice here. there is also a cafe/restaurant on site, but it was closed while we were here, there is a fridge in the room, no microwave, no coffee machine. they ask that you limit your water use, which makes sense, you are in the desert, there is a large trash can outside each cabin, each cabin has four units, there is no problem parking right outside the door here. there is quite a drive to get to anywhere, including restaurants, gas stations and the main reason for staying here, Big Bend National Park, there is no cell service here, but they do have wifi which covers a lot more than the cabins, we were able to go for an afternoon stroll and stay connected to their wifi. in my experience the staff was helpful, friendly and patient, I needed to purchase ice and painkillers one day and the person on duty was on the phone with another potential guest, she was calm and patient while she helped them, I was able to pay for the ice without waiting for the phonecall to finish. the location is very quiet, you have amazing views, the night sky is incredible, and I wish we had snapped a couple of photos of that incredible sky during our stay.
